Slaughtering pigs: prices decrease

By the year end live pigs market prices has tangibly come down: over two weeks pigs purchase lower in price by a mean of one UAH. Therefore, at the end of 2014, producers have to sell live weight pigs on an average 25 UAH per kilo. Processing companies note the «feverish offer» on the part of producers against the background of soft demand and push prices to the lowering.
Although, a number of people predict that prices on live weight pigs of first category will drift further within 24-26 UAH/kg, the majority of market players prepare for marked weakening in January. However, the price decrease after winter holidays is traditional, in 2015 the cheapening will be forced by low-level of population purchasing power.
