Slaughter pigs prices: Moving in abeyance?

In the second part of September, the average price of live weight of first category slaughter pigs continues to approximate closely to the psychological threshold in 30 UAH/kg. The lower threshold of price range on second-category pigs has already overgone this frontier: the kilo of pork of this type was bought by 27.5-31.5 UAH/kg during week 38th. But, the average performance gravitates more toward the price minimum. Prices on leaner pigs vary in a narrow corridor (30-32.5 UAH). That’s why the disparity between average prices on mentioned category has widened.
The processors keep on noting the tangible predominance of offer over the demand. As for short-term expectations, some of them insist on decrease, others have slightly stabilized the price. The rest refrain from forecasts, as the «tricky move» of export-oriented companies can essentially change the market situation.
