The price fall at live pig market continues

Live pigs continue to cheapen. During the week 38, the average price of kilo of meat pork (live weight equivalent) has decreased on 2% and run at 31,86 UAH/kg. At the beginning of the third decade of September, the desirable price minimum has come down to the position of 29 UAH/kg. The maximum price is expected to be 32 UAH/kg.
Some of processers have already stabilized prices. Others, on the contrary, insist on further decrease arguing it in favor of feed cost-cutting, small demand and relative stability of currency rate. The blockade of Crimea “pours oil on flames” as it can beat down the pork price during the current week.
