Live pigs market: price continues to tighten up

Live pigs continue to cheapen. During the week 40, the price of kilo of pork (live weight basis) has varied from 28 UAH to 32 UAH. That’s why in average, meat-type pigs were bought by 29,8 UAH/kg. It is 3.5% less than week earlier.

The early October, the price expectations of market participants are even more pessimistic. While the lower bound is unchanged at level 28 UAH/kg, the maximum has lost 2 UAH by the kilogram. Thus the decrease of average price is unavoidable this week. Some producers are disposed on price stabilization the nearest time. But the domestic market oversupply instills doubts.
