Live Pigs Market: Prices Strengthening Continues

The last week, prices on live pigs felt the positive vibrations. Their growth is expected to continue this week. Thus, the second week of August the slaughter pigs were realized in average by 30.3 UAH/kg, but during this (the third) week the average indicator is expected to exceed 31 UAH/kg.
As a result of Friday’s trading, pork producers managed to sell commercial livestock 0.5-1 UAH/kg higher than the previous week. So, the upper limit of the range of farm gate prices reached 32 UAH/kg. The realization of live pigs by 31,5-31,75 is more common. The main reason for this increase is lower supply, caused by slower pigs daily gains because of the hot weather. Thus, producers noted the brisk demand from processors.
