Breeding farm Zolotoniskyi,Ltd

Before its decadence in 1999, Zolotoniskyi breeding farm with 36 thousand pigs was one of the four twins in the Soviet Union. It included 59 production premises which were located on 53 hectares of land, two lagoons for half a million cubic meters each, they occupied 25 hectares; and sanitation facilities.

Zolotoniskyi breeding farm, Ltd (the director is Suleiman Ali Ahmad) renewed its activity in 2006, when the enterprise made a thorough repair and imported 1200 heads of breeding pigs of Landrace, Large white (dam line) and Alba(sire line). The arrived herd was divided in two groups. The first one is GGP; it is used for breeding pure lines of those three breeds. The second one is for breeding of two-cross sows, which are used for growing of slaughter pigs (3-breeds crosses). The capacity of the pig farm is 54 thousand pigs and 4 thousand sows. The breeding sales of the enterprise are 100 boars and 2 760 sows every year. The enterprise also sales 9.5 thousand tons of pork every year.

According to the results of governmental certification the enterprise was given the status of the breeding farm for Landrace and Large White breeds.

From the very beginning of its activity the enterprise has been working with English breeding company UPB and the Institute of Pig Production of Poltava named by Kvasnytskyi. Thus it is advised by foreign and native consultants. The investors made thorough repair; they changed a metal ventilation system for a plastic one. The same change was done with the noisy electric motors. The reconstruction of sanitation facilities was also done. An elevator with a modern grain dryer was constructed. A feed mill was also launched and its capacity is 1200 tons per day. Only modern feeding and housing systems are used on the enterprise. Feeding systems from Belgian company Roxell and ventilation system of the Dutch company Sommenprosects B.V. are used on the enterprise. The enterprise sales high quality breeding gilts and boars. The sales of semen of three breeds are planned to be done in the nearest future.
