One of the best in CIS plants for sausage casings production stopped

On September, 30 Prilutsky Plant Bilkozyn, OJSC stopped its main production capacities.
The adminitartion of the plant names say the reason is difficult economic situation in the company, which does not allow them to in time pay for raw materials, energy consumption, repay interest on loans etc. Date for reopening is not defined yet. The plant has got a delay of wages for a few months, which were repaid only for July.
The head of the regional trade-union of agriculture Serhiy Hobotnia reported that on 6, October the union will hold a meeting at the factory to support the team.
In May this year Prilutskoyi Plant Bilkozyn, OJSC had a week-long strike after which workers were paid a few months salary arrears. During the tense talks between the union and the owners the agreement was made, indicating that future salaries will be paid to people on time and in full.
Prilutsky Plant Bilkozyn, OJSC is the only in Ukraine and one of the few in Europe enterprises which specialize in manufacturing artificial collagen casings used in sausages, frankfurters and other foods production. Plant commissioned in December 1980, exports almost half its products to Europe, Asia and Latin America. Until recently, the company was one of the best not only in Ukraine but in Russia.
