Prices on live animals in Ukraine: pigs continue to cheapen

Prices on live pigs continue to fall under the processors’ pressure. Pig farms have to sell cheaper to market planned batch of pigs.
The lower range in the Eastern regions serves as an orienting point for processing plants that influence the price situation in other region. So, this week the live pig market in the Center and the East will bring into step: pigs of the first category will sell by 25-26 UAH/kg. In Western Ukraine the price will be a bit higher — in general the kilo of live weight will cost 26 UAH.
But the opening of Russian market for several Ukrainian processors offer hope for price stabilization.
