Live pigs market: prices are settled by gossips?

Last week seemed to be calmer for pig farms, because during its first half the majority of producers could take hold on planned price level. The situation on Ukrainian East has slightly stabilized: the information came about successful supply of pig carcasses to Crimea.
In Western regions the processors’ pressure has strengthen in the end of the week. Orienting the lower range in the Center and the East, processing companies «speculate for a fall» the live pig prices in western regions.
Such decrease proves the appearance of imported pork, especially Brazilian. Taking into account prices on imported pork from Brazil it occurs not quite realistic.
So, this week prices in the Center will vary on level 25-26 UAH/kg, in eastern regions will be 24.5-26 UAH/kg, in western — 25-26.8 UAH/kg.
