Live pigs market: prices decreasing in opposition to the prime cost

Market prices for live pigs are sweepingly decreasing in opposition to the prime cost. On the third week of the year, meat-type pigs were bought by 23-24.5 UAH/kg, while the kilo of the second-category pork in live-weight cost from 21 to 24 UAH/kg. That’s why over three weeks the purchasing prices onto the pigs of I category decreased on 6%, and the second category went down in value on 10%.
According to the processers expectations such price level is not flat out. It is predicted that corresponding tendencies will last, at least, till the spring. More than likely, market prices on live weight pigs will move upwards only the day before Easter. Furthermore the demand and the trading will be flabby, and the dialogue between processers and producers rather complex.
