“AK “Slobozhanskyi”,PJSC

Agrocombinat “Slobozhanskyi” was built in September, 1996 on the basis of the similarly-named communal farm.

The firm was actively engaged in dairy business and pig production. By the end of 2010,“Slobozhanskyi” entered the list of top-ten Ukrainian largest pig producers in terms of sow herd size (5,300 heads *) and also according to the volume of pig meat grown and donated to processing (3,755 tones live weight *), the company’s net income came out at 104 mln UAH and the losses at 21.6 mln UAH.

However, at the end of 2011, they gave up pig business because of unprofitability, and declared the company a bankrupt.

At the beginning of 2012, the Karavan Superstar became the new owners of “Slobozhanskyi”, PJSC.

After the great modernization from June till October 2012 the 5000 of pigs and boars were bought in Denmark (DanAvl genetics, supplier DanBred International). In November of the same year they got the first farrowings.

As of January 1, 2013 there were 4,800 sows at “Slobozhanskyi”. The first stage of reconstruction is being finished — it will allow growing 120 thousands of slaughter pigs every year.

At the end of 2012 the enterprise also built their own feed mill with capacity of 20 tons per hour.

After the ending of the second stage of reconstruction and building, planned for 2015, the company will increase its annual capacity to 12 thous. of sows and 350 thous. of slaughter pigs annually.

At the present moment, “Slobozhanskyi”, PJSC joins the same-named agricultural enterprise (pig and dairy cattle growing), “Agroresurs”, LLC (crop production, the total area of the arable land is about 8 thous. ha), and “Slobozhanslyi packing house”, LLC.
