Live pigs price dynamic

The average slaughter pigs prices in September remained on almost steady level comparatively to August. The price was expected to decline in September. But due to the price increase in main exporting countries the price of imported pork went up. Consequently it made that product less attractive. As a result the demand for Ukrainian pork increased. High prices for feeds ingredients and low percentage of forage grain is an additional factor that restrains pork prices from declining.
The average price for pigs of the 1st category was 20.95 UAH/kg; the average price for pigs of the 2nd category was 19,2UAH/kg.
