Dynamic of slaughter pig prices (april 2011)

The bacon and meat type pig prices maintain the tendency to increase. Looking forward to the increased demand for meat as a result of Easter holiday and end of fasting meat processing companies have to continue to rise up prices. In comparison with March 2011, the average April price per one kilo of bacon type pigs rose up by 10,4% (1.34 UAH/kg) up to 14.25 UAH per one kilo of live weight. And the price per meat type pigs was up by 3.1 % (0.48 UAH)up to 16.03 UAH/kg. In comparison with April 2010 the pig prices in April 2011 were a bit higher: the price per bacon and meat type pigs was by 8.6 and 10.7 % cheaper.
The representatives of meat processing companies expect the prices are not likely to decrease in the nearest future.

As of the 26 of April the bacon type pigs price reached 15 UAH/kg, which is by 1,51UAH/kg (11,2%) more expensive than two weeks ago. The meat type pigs price was 17.06 UAH/kg which is by 1.71UAH/kg (2,9%) more expensive than on March, 29.
