The Number Of Pigs Is Increasing

According to the report of Ukrainian State Committee of Statistics, for March, 1, 2010 the total pig herd size in all the categories of agricultural enterprises of Ukraine increased by 16.7% (which is by 1,115 mln. heads) comparing to March, 1, 2009—now there are 7mln. 804,9 thous. heads.
It is stated that at agricultural enterprises the total heard size of pigs increased by 22,1% (which is 624,3 thous. heads)—up to 3 mln. 455,1 thous. heads. While at private households the total heard size of pigs increased by 12.7% (which is 491,1 thous.heads)—up to 4 mln. 349,8 thous.heads. For March 1, 2010, 55.7% of all pigs are in private households.
