"Flora-S" agricultural company

Agrarian enterprise Flora-S in Sokalivskyi district (www.flora-s.com.ua) is a relatively young company, but can already compete with the best European farms. It was started by two business partners Ivan Shevchuk (director) and Bogdan Bondarivskyi (director of the industrial complex), who gained their experience at farms in Holland, Poland and Hungary. In 2007 the farm had 700 pigs. Improvements of management systems in the units of growers and allowed to increase the herd to 3.5 thousand heads in a short term. Flora-S does not stop at the achieved level and plans to enlarge the herd to 5 thousand heads soon. Flora-S has the status of a breeding farm, applies the latest technologies of intensive feeding and is also a supplier of Dutch equipment to other livestock facilities in Ukraine. 

They have a closed production cycle: from growing high-quality forage, rearing animals to selling meat. Company doesn't use any genetically modified organisms or antibiotics for pigs feeding and supplies the market with fresh organic meat (particularly at the regional agricultural marketing center Shuvar). 

Modern electronic technologies are used at the farm: electronic feeders Porcode of Dutch company Nedap for sows, heat-detectors, temperature sensors of micro-climate built into fans. The system takes into account all the needs of different age and sex groups. 
Growers are kept in the units with warmed floors (concrete heated to 22-25 ° C). Equipment of Dutch company Groba is used for feeding, which prevents forage wastes.
Animals at fattening are divided into separate age and sex groups. Each group receives their own diet which meets their physiological needs; thereby productivity of animals is increasing significantly. 
The company rents 1,300 ha of land to provide the farm with own grain for forage production. When the issue of food surplus arose, it was decided to start dairy business. In addition, the company has its own slaughterhouse and cooperates with supermarkets and restaurants. 

Breeding farm "Flora-S” specializes in breeding purebred Landrace. For artificial insemination breeding stock was imported from France (France Hybrids –Landrace, Makster boars) and from Hungary (Hungapig - Landrace, Hampshire, Large White breeds). Almost all the boars are of Elite-Record class.
